Learn more about our programs

The first session is spent discussing what you would like to achieve from the program, your goals and what your budget worries & barriers are.
From there, we go through your current spending habits and commitments to identify what’s important to you.
Our counsellor and yourself work together to make a budget and assist you in completing any payments that need to be made and together, track your spending.
-A budget without tracking your spending is non-productive and may prevent you from reaching your goals.-
We will also help you with your understanding of things such as banking, income, bills, scams & contractual obligations (credit cards/afterpay etc)
The first session is very much devoted to understanding you, your situation and what strategies & learning styles might work best for you.

Over 12 weeks we generally get a more complete idea of your spending habits.
Think of us as your personal trainer for your spending, it takes time to develop new habits!

Seeing each other weekly allows us to keep up with spending and allows us to talk through any money decisions you want to make.  It also means we can act quickly if there has been overspending or unexpected things pop up!

Absolutely!
Talking about money can be intimidating and overwhelming to begin with and having someone you trust with you can help ease that.

All our Financial Literacy Coaches are Allied health professionals.
You can feel comfortable knowing that our staff are all registered counsellors with experience within the disability/mental health sector.

Whilst financial Literacy is an incredible tool to firstly help you build on your basic budgeting skills and understanding of all things money, Financial Literacy is about breaking down current spending habits and the “why” behind those, developing strategies that work best with YOU and the way you learn… and then building on more positive spending habits

No!
We don’t take over any control or management of your money.
Our role is to assist you with being independent & taking over goes against our core beliefs and the programs’ purpose.

We have hubs in various suburbs across SA, NSW, VIC, QLD & WA.

Often participants will want to achieve or get more understanding on one or more of the following:
-They want to spend less (reduce shopping spending)

-Currently feeling overwhelmed by personal finances and arrangements
-Wanting to work towards removal of an administration order or have been recently removed from one and feeling a bit lost
-Managing those Dopamine shopping spree hits!
Just to name a few.
Its very common for everyone to not fully understand where all their money goes.  This program is designed to simplify your money management and to understand exactly what you are spending and why.

The Date-Ability program is developed by Allied Health professionals.
a team of Counsellors, psychologists & sexologists with community services experience, all banded together to create the content.

Date-Ability is facilitated and supported by the same people who developed the program!
Our Date-Ability team are all Registered counsellors, psychologists, or sexologists. It doesn’t matter if they’re a support sitting with the group or facilitating, they are all absolute legends with the program.

Nope!
Date-Ability is purely educational. Have a look at our Mates Before Dates event if it’s creating connections that you’re after.

Absolutely! Support people are welcome.
These are sensitive topics so by all means please bring a support person if that helps you.
We often find support people are present for the first session, and then participants feel pretty comfy to attend by themselves from the second session onwards, with their support people waiting outside the room.

The 12 week program is $2,900 and can come from Improved Daily Living, Capacity- 15_043_0128_1_3.

We have hubs in various suburbs across SA, NSW, VIC, QLD & WA.

Often participants will want to achieve or get more understanding on one or more of the following:
-Lack self-confidence and self-awareness in their own boundaries and values
-Find themselves relationship hopping and seeking relationships all the time
-Lack of social connections
-History of trauma or experienced traumatising situations
-History of toxic relationships either being with someone toxic, or potentially being the toxic person
-Vulnerable to online scams and online dating
-No or little understanding of social norms or how to even start a friendship
-Lack of understanding around sexual urges and what that can look like, how to respond to them.
-Ready for sex but not sure what to do, or where to start
-Not ready for sex but wanting to understand to advocate for their own boundaries
Just to name a few!

We cap programs at 12 people so we can ensure the program runs smoothly and everyone has a chance to voice their thoughts.

No problems! Our 1:1 Relationship skills program is the alternative when someone doesn’t want to attend the group session.

A lot of our participants continue on to do 1:1 Relationship Skills counselling, in this space we can focus on key areas and make it 100% relevant to your situation. We can practice some scenarios or expand on any of the topics or any other area that you feel is preventing you from creating friends/connections.

Mates Before Dates

MB4D is a supported and comfortable event for NDIS participants to create friends and social connections. The base point of MB4D is for friends, of course that’s what is most important! However, who knows, it might turn into a potential date.
A light lunch is provided as a part of the event.

You know you best!
What we do know, is that MB4D is somewhat fast paced, there is A LOT of conversations from a lot of people happening at the same time.
Whilst we do hold the event in large spaces to try and reduce this, the noise is bound to happen and is unavoidable due to the nature of the event.
There is on average 30-50 people at these events, more if you include their support people that often come along.
People are sat with people either side of them, and across from them, if this makes you uncomfortable or a big group makes you feel too uncomfortable, you might want to give it a miss- Did you know about The Cliq Connect app? Give that a go!

We staff the event with our team of Allied Health Professionals, they are here to step in if you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious or just needing a little bit of a pep talk.
Our team will also be there to jump in if the conversation looks a little slow or non-existent, we help with those awkward moments!
We staff the event with 1 counsellor per 10 participants.
We advise all attendees that if they require support to physically move side to side from one chair to another, they will need to bring their own support person, also if participants need support to identify names or place a tick next to someone’s name or use a communication device, they will also need to bring a support person to be able to participate and get the most out of the event.
If you want to bring a support person in general, that’s absolutely okay!

We suggest not too! This creates pressure on the other person to hand over their details when really, they might want to think about it some more or might not be interested (Which is totally fine!) We ask in our group norms that participants not ask for personal contact details including Social media details during the program.
Within a week of the program, our team are super busy matching everyone up and once everyone has their matches as indicated on their sheets, we email out match details along with a bio and a photo of the matches to help refresh memory and give some ideas on conversation topics.

Feel free to bring along your support person if needed, otherwise you don’t need to bring anything, we have it all covered!
In regards to getting ready we have a couple of blogs on our sister page www.thecliqconnection
