Privacy Policy

Privacy Statement 
 
At First Step Solutions, we are committed to protecting our client’s right to privacy.   
We do not sell, rent, or trade the information we collect.  We uphold our systems to ensure that information is secure.  We do not send information overseas or to telemarketers. 
 
What is your personal information?  
Your personal information is any information about you or relevant to you. 
It can include highly sensitive information i.e., medial history or conditions to more daily information like addresses or phone numbers. 
We only collect information relevant to the service or program you have been referred to.  

What is “Sensitive information”?  
Sensitive personal information can include but is not limited to”  
– Cultural background.  
Political stance.  
-Sexual preferences.  
– Criminal record.  
– Health and/or Disability.  
In line with Anti-Discrimination laws, we will only request sensitive information if it is relevant and would have an impact on the program or service that has been requested.  
 
What types of information will First Step Solutions request & hold? (But is not limited to)  
– Your contact information (email address, postal address & phone numbers)  
– Your Date of Birth.  
– Relevant information on your NDIS plan in relation to billing and invoicing.  
 
How do First Step Solutions gain and collect information?  
Majority of the information we require comes from the referring agency i.e., a Support Coordinator.  
Anything else within your personal information is usually provided from yourself with one of our staff members. 
 
How will your information be used and shared?  
We do not sell or trade your information.  
We will only disclose information as per the consent form and policy, where the information is needed to provide a service relevant to you, or if the information is requested by a court order/law enforcement. 
When signing the consent form, you agree for First step solutions to disclose and share relevant information with its employees and contractors.  
You also consent to First Step Solutions disclosing information to other third-party providers when needed and necessary. This can be for further referrals or in relation to other agencies who are involved within your support network.  
 
What is my personal information collected for?  
– To verify your identity.  
– To complete referral forms and other relevant documents needed for program delivery. 
– To assess eligibility and which programs are suited to your needs.  
– To assign a coach or program that can meet your needs.  
– To assist in a streamlined approach to service delivery. 
– If you have also given consent on our social media consent form, some of your basic details may be shared on our social media pages as “success” stories for example.  
– To create a network of providers in place to ensure we are all working together to assist you with your goals/support.  
– When required, we may contact debt collectors and other third parties on your behalf.  
– Any other matters reasonably necessary to facilitate the primary purpose for which the personal information was collected.  
 
Internet Security.  
Due to the nature of the internet, First Step Solutions cannot guarantee the safety of your information. First Step Solutions will endeavour to have all reasonable and relevant processes and securities in place to protect your information and its integrity, however that safety cannot be guaranteed. 
When we are aware of or are informed of any unauthorised use of personal information or other parties having access to your information without consent, we will take all reasonable measures to investigate and rectify the issue.
